Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA)…Your chance to work with the best!
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.
Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.
About the Role
This is a senior leadership role providing authoritative oversight of systems assurance and acceptance for the Cross River Rail project. The role sets the strategic direction for systems assurance within the Lead Integrator and ensures assurance activities, evidence and outcomes across delivery packages support safe, compliant and timely acceptance of the integrated railway system.
Leading the Delivery Authority’s systems assurance function, the position governs assurance obligations across multiple delivery packages and interfacing parties, including major rail systems and digital signalling. It exercises senior technical judgement, shapes assurance strategy, and sets clear expectations for assurance standards, rigour and acceptance readiness across a complex, multi‑party delivery environment.
The role is a key point of accountability with accepting authorities and regulators, building confidence in the project’s assurance approach and readiness for acceptance. It plays a critical role in resolving complex assurance and acceptance issues that could impact safety, regulatory approval or delivery milestones, and in providing clear, evidence‑based advice to senior executives to support informed decision making.
This position offers a rare opportunity to lead systems assurance at scale on a city‑shaping rail program, with genuine influence over safety, regulatory outcomes and the legacy assurance framework for a new integrated railway. This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until March 2029 with possible extension. Interstate relocation assistance is available.
